parenting, parents, moms, motherhood, toddlers, babies, kids, marriage, guilt, shameHere’s the deal: I turned 40 and then immediately, like, 12:01 am immediately, life took a very sharp downward turn.

I went into a funk.

I felt depressed, frustrated, insignificant, and kind of just wanted to give up.

Not give up on life, but give up on doing anything other than finding new shows to watch on Netflix and continue my search for a sparkling water that I can actually stand to drink.

It took three weeks, and a lot of meds, hospitals, doctors and patience, but I am once again, crawling my way out of the darkness.

Sometimes encouragers need encouragement.

Supporters need support.

I’ve never mentioned this before, but I do on this episode.

My kids teachers give and give everyday, and that doesn’t go unnoticed by me.  Sometimes I like to throw one of those fizzy bath things their way, write a note, or just Xerox some pages out of book that made me think of them.

We all know how challenging it can be to give and encourage and support.

Sometimes people need to know that they matter and that they are making a difference.

Your encouragement after my last episode was part of the catalyst that led me to produce this one.

Thanks for the encouragement.

I hope you know that even when I’m in a hospital gown and a $2000 hospital party hat, that I am here for you too.
