self care, motherhood, i mom so hard, babies, kids, toddlers, sahm, sahm burnout, depression, self love, self care activities, how to start with self care

How the heck are you supposed to do self care when you don’t have time?

When you don’t have money?

When you don’t have a babysitter?

When you have no idea where to even start?

If I hear one more person tell me that I need to be sure I am taking care of myself, attending to my self care, prioritizing myself, I am going to poke them in the eye with a marshmallow.

I’ve been there.

You feel like you’re doing it all, you know you need to take care of yourself, but who the heck is going to pick up the slack while you’re off getting this alleged life-changing pedicure?

Self care became another job for me. It wasn’t fun, it was just another thing on the to-do list.

Instead of managing my mom fatigue, my “self care” was only making me more exhausted, more stressed and feel even more like a failure.

So I figured out a new way to get from losing myself in the chaos, to feeling more relaxed and peaceful.

I called it.

Self care is B.S.

  1. My youngest will pick oatmeal most days in a month for dinner. My oldest, chooses it to have a quick dinner and more play time. I figure if it fills their belly and they are good for the night, then have at it. It’s been known to pick a bowl of oatmeal over pizza and burgers even.
Lots of good ideas and real perspective
